The "Amazing Shanghai" city image promotion campaign and the Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Exhibition opened on Thursday at the world cultural heritage site, Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, Japan, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship.

The exhibition is aimed at promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan, and is simultaneously exhibited in Osaka, a sister city of Shanghai, for one week.

The exhibition includes Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage art such as Jinshan peasant painting and black pottery, as well as the "Amazing Shanghai" city film and a documentary on Shanghai intangible cultural heritage.

The exhibition is the first Chinese cultural exhibition held at Kiyomizu Temple, and is located in the ancient sutra hall at the temple.

A Japanese reporter, after seeing the Jinshan peasant paintings, said: "The colors of Jinshan peasant paintings are gorgeous and the content is simple yet modern. These pictures showcase the daily life of the Chinese people. Through the colorful pictures, you can feel the wisdom and aspirations of the Chinese laboring people towards happiness. This exhibition has become a window for the Japanese people to understand Shanghai and China."
