Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) will build a new campus in Fengxian District. Once completed, it will be a high-standard boarding school that will attract students from across Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, said Shanghai High School President Feng Zhigang during the groundbreaking ceremony held on Tuesday.

The new campus is part of SHSID's new development pattern which includes the main campus on Middle School Road, as well as four branches in Zhangjiang, Lingang, Hongkou, and Fengxian.

The Fengxian campus will be built in two phases. The first phase will have a total floor area of 64,590 square meters, including 52,272 square meters of above-ground space and 12,318 square meters of underground space.

Yuan Quan, Party Secretary of Fengxian District, said that the district has always placed education as its top priority of livelihood and is committed to building Fengxian into a leading education hub in southern Shanghai.

"Shanghai High School International Division has become a world-class innovative top school through its 30-year development," said Yuan. "I hope that SHSID and Fengxian Distrct will work together to create a new era of innovation and people-oriented development in Fengxian."
