Applicants: Start-ups including small and micro businesses, privately or individually-owned businesses, private non-enterprise units, and farmer cooperatives that are registered in Shanghai for less than 36 months can apply for the rental subsidy based on the number of local workers they employ.

Subsidy criteria: The subsidy amount will be determined based on the number of local workers a start-up employs and the number of urban employees for whom the start-up pays social insurance according to regulations. A monthly rental subsidy will be granted when the start-up pays a monthly social insurance for its employees. The annual rental subsidy per capita will be no more than 3,000 yuan.

Subsidy duration: No longer than 3 years from the date of registration of a start-up.

Where to apply: The entrepreneurship guidance and service organ under the employment promotion center of the district where the applicant registers its startup.
